The project “DeCYPher cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYPs) by digital tools to produce flavonoids and terpenoids”, with the acronym deCYPher and project number 101081782, is a Hop-On project funded by the European Commission. It began on February 21, 2025, with a duration of 30 months. The main objective is to study metabolites produced by the cytochrome P450 enzyme complex, using artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to optimize the bioproduction process. The Principal Investigator of the activities carried out at NIMSB is Dr. Cláudia Nunes Santos.
Tasks:
- Investigation of the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and autophagy-inducing bioactivities of terpenoids
- Investigation of anti-inflammatory bioactivities in the gut of edible flavonoids and terpenoids
- Statistical analysis to associate bioactivities with the structural characteristics of the compounds
Requirements:
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field
- Experience with enzyme research and biotechnology
- Interest in AI/ML applications in biological systems
